Urban Seminar Series on Children's Health and Safety

Building Coalitions to Bring About Change- December 6-7, 2001

This seminar explored the most effective strategies for coalition building in the United States. In particular, seminar participants discussed the factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of strong political, multiracial, and cross-class coalitions; urban-suburban partnerships; and issues surrounding local capacity building. Particular emphasis was placed on building coalitions in order to bring about long lasting improvements to social service and political systems which affect the well-being of children.
