A broadcasting pioneer as president of CBS Inc. (1946-1973), as well as chairman of the American Red Cross (1973 to 1979), Frank Stanton was for many years a wise counsel and generous benefactor to Harvard University and the Kennedy School of Government.
Over the years, he was a member of the University’s Board of Overseers and chair of the Visiting Committees of both the Kennedy School and Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. He was also a member of the visiting committee of the Harvard Art Museums and a member of the Executive Committee of the Committee on University Resources.
Mr. Stanton was the founding vice chair of the Advisory Board of the Taubman Center for State and Local Government and served sagely in this capacity for nearly 20 years until his death. He will be long remembered and greatly missed.
