DAVID CASH

David Cash is research associate at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and lecturer in Environmental Science and Public Policy at Harvard University. As a member of the Initiative on Science and Technology for Sustainability, he studies the interaction of science and the negotiation and development of environmental policy in a range of issues including climate change, bio-diversity conservation and food security.

His current work explores how to effectively build and maintain research, assessment and decision support systems for addressing issues of sustainability across multiple levels. As part of the Global Environmental Assessment project (GEA), he has focused on how scientific assessment of global environmental risks is linked to local decision making and local environmental risk management. He takes specific interest in how information and decision-making systems can best support the management of cross-scale environmental risks.
