Carol Lamm has been involved in community and economic development in the Appalachian region since 1978. She currently works with community organizations in Kentucky and Central Appalachia on planning and organizational development projects. From 1995- 1999, Carol Lamm served as Director of Program Development for the Mountain Association for Community Economic Development (MACED) in Berea, Kentucky, a nonprofit organization that assists communities in Kentucky and Central Appalachia through a variety of means including business financing, entrepreneurship training, support for local organizations promoting education, working with citizens for accountable local government and helping communities move toward sustainable development. From 1990-1994 Carol Lamm was the director of the Brushy Fork Institute of Berea College, a leadership development program for the Central Appalachian region. Prior to that time she worked for MACED for 10 years, providing assistance to businesses and community organizations and doing research. Carol Lamm received an A.B. and M.A. in English
from Cornell University. She is an active volunteer at both the
community and state level,
and is past president of the Kentucky Association of School Councils. |
