Indian Prime minister's National Relief Fund: The Prime Minister's National Relief Fund, created shortly after Independence, provides immediate relief to people in distress. The Fund depends entirely on voluntary donations received from the public.  Accepts donations via direct bank deposit in US$, Euro and Rupees as well as online cash donations.

International Non-Governmental Organizations

Give World is owned and operated by Give Foundation, Inc. is a US based non-religious and non-political, 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization. All donations to GIVE Foundation, Inc are tax-exempt in the US. 100% of donations will go towards relief for the tsunami.  This is a unique site in that it provides the user the control of where they want their money to be spent.  Donations can be made by Credit Card and through PayPal.  Includes directions for mailing Checks and Donating in Kind

Food For Life – A vegetarian food relief organization that operates in South-East Asia including India and Sri Lanka.  100% of funds donated go towards helping disaster relief.  Donations can be made by Credit Card and through PayPal. 

International Association for Human Values (IHAV) – A cultural preservation and development organization that has set up a Chennai office to head its relief efforts in India.  Welcomes non-perishable food, medicine, clothes, and donations.  Donations to IHAV are tax-deductible in the United States. 

AID India Relief Campaign – Donations in kind and for volunteering to help in India.  This is a US non-profit organization for helping channel development aid back to India and has set up relief operations for the tsunami. Click Here to learn how to make Donations in Kind.
