The Jerome Lyle Rappaport Charitable Foundation

The Jerome Lyle Rappaport Charitable Foundation was created in 1997 to formalize Jerry Rappaport's practice of rewarding and promoting leadership and innovative thinking in public policy, medical research, education, and the arts in Greater Boston.

The Foundation is based on five principles:

  • Identify individuals with demonstrated leadership capability, integrity, and intellectual rigor who are committed to tackling difficult challenges in their field;
  • Value and reward the vision, commitment, and successes of these individuals;
  • Offer grant recipients opportunities and resources to expand their skills and vision, develop their minds, and sustain their motivations;
  • Make meaningful change that is both measurable and immeasurable in its benefits to other people;
  • Live by the principle of continuous improvement.

In addition to providing funding for the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston, the Jerome Lyle Rappaport Charitable Foundation sponsors several other programs.
