Library Services for KSG Alumni
KSG alumni can get special borrowers cards, valid only in the KSG Library, by filling out an application form available at the circulation desk. It takes a while for us to process your request and set you up in the HOLLIS system, so please allow about an hour for us to get your card ready.
Alumni are also eligible for a Widener Library stack access card, which provides admittance to the stacks and the right to borrow up to six books a year. To request a card, you must go in person to the Privileges Desk on the first floor of Widener. More details are available on the Widener web site: http://hcl.harvard.edu/widener/about/borrowing.html
The Harvard libraries' electronic resources such as LexisNexis and Academic Search Premier can be accessed without a Harvard ID or PIN from the public computers in all the Harvard libraries. However, our contracts with vendors restrict remote access only to people with valid ID's and PIN's. You can search the HOLLIS Catalog freely from anywhere in the world.
Under an arrangement we have made with ProQuest, alumni can access a collection of articles from over 2,000 periodicals. You can search the collection and display abstracts at no charge. However, for access to the full-text of articles, you need to subscribe at the nominal cost of $99.00 a year. Details and the "Account Request" link are available on the KSG alumni site.
