Borrowing Privileges

Anyone with a valid Harvard ID or a KSG Library Special Borrower's card may borrow books from the KSG Library's circulating collection.

Borrowing Periods - General Collection

Students: 28 days

Faculty and Staff: Due dates are Sept. 10, Feb. 10, or June 10 depending on when the material was borrowed.

Borrowing Periods - Reserve Collection

Three hours, or, if borrowed within 3 hours of closing, overnight. Materials borrowed overnight are due back the next day, one half hour after the library opens.

Renewals

Items from the general collection may be renewed electronically, from the "Your Account" pages in the HOLLIS Catalog,  in person, or by phone up to 5 times. Reserve materials can be renewed only in person.

Recalls

If another library user requests an item that you have borrowed, we will notify you that the book must be returned before its original due date. Books are subject to recall after a minimum of 14 days, and they are then due 7 days after the recall notice has been sent out.

Overdue Fines

Regular Books:$2.00 on the 4th day overdue (there is a 3 day grace period) and $.50 per day thereafter. Fines will be half price if paid in person, but must be paid promptly. Once the charges go to the term bill office, there can be no price reduction.

DVD's from the Reel Politik Collection: $.50 per day

Recalled items: $2.00 per day

Reserve materials: $1.00 per hour per overdue item.

Replacement Fees: The charge for a lost book is $75.00 plus accrued fines.
