Retsinas and Habitat
In the fall, Habitat for Humanity’s International Board of directors appointed Nicolas Retsinas as their new chairperson. Retsinas, director of the Joint Center for Housing Studies and a lecturer at the Kennedy School and Harvard Graduate School of Design, served as a member of the board for the past nine years. The board provides leadership and direction in the organization’s mission to end poverty housing worldwide. Members are unpaid and typically serve four terms with two years in each term period. Since 1976, Habitat has built more than 200,000 houses in nearly 100 countries. Retsinas is in the National Housing Hall of Fame and was recently named one of the 25 most influential people in real estate by the National Association of Realtors.
