Is a Wonk in Deep Weeds if His or Her RFP Is a Lemon?
Time and again, Kathleen Fox, assistant dean for teaching support, heard from
international students that they couldn’t understand all of the acronyms and government jargon that were thrown about in class or found in their course work. So Fox, a self-described word lover, decided to create a glossary of idioms (pull an all-nighter), political slang (spin doctor), and Kennedy Schoolisms (CMO, salmon runs). Luckily for the students, the glossary is still going strong and is available in hard copy (contact Fox) or online at www.ksg.harvard.edu/TS/Glossary/glossary.htm.
