Before the Nobel With only an easel and a few charts, then-Vice President Al Gore gives an early presentation of what later becomes the basis for the 2006 Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth. At a Forum event held October 1997 to celebrate the newly named Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Gore shows how rising CO2 levels and temperatures are putting the environment at risk. In October 2007, Gore shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for his work in bringing the issue of climate change onto the world stage.
