Faculty Research Grants

The Kokkalis Program on Southeastern and East-Central Europe at the John F. Kennedy School of Government is pleased to announce its first faculty research grant program.  Grants of up to $15,000 aim to support advanced research by Harvard University faculty members on issues of critical importance to Southeastern and East-Central Europe. Grants can be applied toward research assistance, travel, summer salary, course buy-out, etc.

While project proposals from all disciplines are encouraged, priority will be given to those which address issues of reform in the political, economic, and public sectors; sustainable development; social and health policy; innovation; competitiveness; leadership.

There are no formal application forms. Research proposals (no more than 5 pages), in addition to proposed budget and research timeline, information on other sources of project funding, and the curriculum vitae for senior researchers should be submitted to:

Applications will be reviewed by a Harvard faculty committee.
 The deadline for the receipt of grant applications is May 10, 2004.
