Student Websites

All students are given server space on the HKS network to host a personal website. To create a website first create a folder on your M:drive called "www." Our web server has been programmed to automatically register this folder as a web accessible folder with an address on the net.

Once you have a www folder simply design your index page and save it to the www folder. Your site will be live on the internet.

Dreamweaver software is available to students on computers in the Student Computer Lab. Frontpage is an easy to use software that is good for designing small sites. IT Services provides regular on-line training for Frontpage as well as an occasional training seminar.

The address for a student's web site is:

http://www.ksg.harvard.edu/students/username

For example, if your last name is "Smith" and your first name is "John," then your web site address is:

http://www.ksg.harvard.edu/student/smithjo

Responsible Use of Websites

Student websites are for personal and academic use only. IT Services will close any E-commerce sites or sites that support a political party. Read more on our Responsible Use page.
