Classpage Information

The majority of classes at HKS will involve using the HKS Classpages (login required) for communication, on-line articles, and often many other aspects of class. Once you have successfully logged in to your classpages, you will be sent to your class's homepage, where recent announcements and up coming assignments are displayed, along with any recent polls from your instructor, responses to your discussion contributions, and more.

Classpage Administrator's Guide - Guide for Teaching Fellows and Course Assistants who will be using the Classpages. Students may also find this guide useful if they are having difficulty using the Classpages.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Classpages.

How do I get to the classpages?

The classpages can be found by first navigating your browser to the HKS intranet (login required), then click the the Classes tab at the top of the page.

How do Cross Registered students get access to the classpages?

Cross Registered students can go to the HKS homepage, click the "intranet" button at the top of the page, and select "Login as Cross Registered Student or Auditor." A full set of instructions is available on the page. Once you submit your request it will be approved by either the faculty member, his/her assistant, or a course assistant, and you will receive an email with your username and password letting you know you have been added to the course.

I'm a CA or TF, how do I get admin access to my classpage?

Course Assistants and Teaching Fellows can get access to the classpages by contact the faculty member, the faculty member's Assistant, or other Course Assistants or TFs. They all have the ability to grant Administrator rights to the classpage.

How does a cross registered student get access to be a classpage administrator?

Follow the instructions above to get an account. After, an administrator must go to the classpage and go to the administration menu and add you as Course Assistant or Teaching Fellow. The Cross-Reg student must also be removed from the "student" section of the administration page.

How do I send a message to my class?

If you wish to E-Mail your entire class, you must first get permission from the faculty member or Assistants who run the course. Every class has a default E-Mail address, the format is, for instance:
api-101@ksg.harvard.edu

The links to my On Line Materials don't work. What's wrong?

The most common problem with On Line Materials is the title. In effort to organize the semester, many administrators use the number sign ( # ) in the title in an effort to organize. Unfortunately, the number sign is also a code in html for a page anchor, and causes student web browsers to look for files in a location that does not exist. Keep out the # and the links will work.

Can I change or add my picture?

Pictures are automatically downloaded from the Harvard ID office for HKS students. If you woul like your picture removed, please contact Aileen Grunder. Cross Registered students can add a picture on the "Options" section on the left side menu bar on the classpage.
