The Harvard University PIN

A Harvard University PIN, in conjunction with your Harvard ID number, is strictly designed to confirm your identity as a Harvard University affiliate. ITS does not adminster the PIN and can only be of assistance directing you to the appropriate contact at UIS if you are experiencing trouble with the PIN

How do I obtain a new PIN?

(If you have never had a PIN, have forgotten it, or have allowed it to expire) Go to the New PIN Request page. You will be asked to identify yourself by entering your Harvard ID number, last name, and date of birth. You may then choose to have your PIN delivered to you either by regular mail or through an email-based process. More information on the email process is available in a separate Frequently Asked Questions page. If you do not receive an email option, it is because there is no email address on file for you. In this case, a letter containing your PIN will be mailed to you by default.

The HKS Library has assembled a comprehensive set of instructions for obtaining a PIN.

If you know your current PIN and wish to change it:

Go to the PIN Change page. You will be asked to identify yourself by entering your Harvard ID number and current PIN. You may immediately enter a new PIN of your own choosing, and may change it as often as you like.
