Disposing Old Computers

Recycle Old Computers

All hardware purchased with university funds, including sponsored research funds, are the property of the university. If your department no longer has need for a computer, you may contact your Field Systems Analyst (FSA) for advice on what to do with it.

Equipment more than 3 years old may be donated to a non profit-organization. Several times a year World Computer Exchange will schedule a pickup day at HKS for used equipment. Watch for announcements in Inside HKS for the dates of collection days. All computers that will no longer be used for HKS business must be cleaned off properly to ensure no data or software is left.

Old computers may not be purchased by individuals for personal use.
