Dreamweaver Information Website

Microsoft has discontinued support for FrontPage software, and, as a result, forced us to change our environment and the way the KSG community will interact with their websites. ITS is working to roll out new software to ensure that you are able edit your websites.

Microsoft's announcement effects KSG because:

  • Microsoft will no longer be developing new versions of FrontPage
  • They will not release new security patches to stave off critical security threats
  • They are no longer supporting critical server technology that is required for our forms.

As a result, KSG will be required to move to a new web editing software. ITS tested various applications in our environment and have chosen Adobe Dreamweaver software as the new supported web editor. Dreamweaver is a highly regarded web editing package and the market leader in web development.

Your FrontPage website will continue to be available to your viewers despite the fact that is no longer supported by Microsoft, and pages that were originally created with FrontPage can now be edited with Dreamweaver.

ITS is has put together this website to help web editors transition to Dreamweaver as smoothly as possible. If you have questions about this site or about using Dreamweaver at KSG please E-Mail your FSA, who will start the support process for you

 

Using this Site

If you are not familiar with Dreamweaver it's best to start on the training tab to become familiar with the software. Editors who have used Dreamweaver should jump to the "Install DW" section of this site and download and install the Form Creator tool.

All editors need to review the "Connect with WebDAV," "Edit Your Pages," and "Forms" section of this website if they wish to begin using Dreamweaver.
