Community Fellows |
Based on the relationships developed with more than 60 community, civic, labor, and advocacy organizations in the Boston area, Marshall Ganz initiated a "community fellows" program through which organizations were offered the opportunity to nominate community leaders, organizers, or activists to "audit" the course as full time students. This year, 12 community fellows were admitted from groups ranging from the Somerville CDC, La Alianza Hispana, SEIU Local 615, Greater Boston Interfaith Organization, Boston Youth Organizing Project, and others.
This program facilitates our students' learning to address real community problems, allows us to share our learning with the broader community, and recruits "allies" in key organizations with whom our students may want to work.
The Hauser Center has provided the modest financial support needed to support this effort.
